Uplift was started in 2018 to help bridge the gaps between early intervention services, preschool, and clinic based services. The owner, Cassandra Howell, a licensed speech-language pathologist has worked in various settings and noticed that while some families had aged out of early intervention, they were not quite ready for preschool or did not qualify for preschool services. Cassandra set out to provide services in-home and in-office to help children become ready for preschool.

Additionally, Cassandra has special interests in working with individuals with autism and fluency disorders. Cassandra has previously worked in autism-center based classrooms, in homes with early language disorders, and has assessed and treated fluency disorders.
